MATT WENCKOWSKI began his studies at Moves Dance Studio in North Aurora, IL, and trained as a competitive dancer with Excel Dance Productions. Matt joined the Joffrey Academy of Dance’s pre-professional and trainee programs and performed works created for the Academy as well as in The Nutcracker with the Joffrey Ballet.

Matt was a scholarship student at the Lou Conte Dance Studio before joining DanceWorks Chicago, Artistic Director Julie Nakagawa. In 2015, he joined the Grand Rapids Ballet performing soloist roles in classical and contemporary works. Matt was a member of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago (HSDC) from 2022-2024, where he danced as well as created pieces for HSDC’s Inside / Out Choreographic Workshop and the CREATE Intensive. His solo for DanceWorks Chicago, Run It One More Time, premiered in Schweinfurt, Germany, in May 2024.
