Jazz music originated in New Orleans and migrated to Chicago as the art form evolved. As a young artist from Louisiana who moved to Chicago, I used that personal parallel and connection to fuel the piece.

Created for the DanceMoves Choreography Competition 2014 and premiered by DanceWorks Chicago at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance in Chicago, IL, on January 17, 2015.
