A WEEK’S POEM

Choreography by Demis Volpi
Music by John Cage

A Week’s Poem is a snapshot of Demis’ creative journey with DanceWorks Chicago, juxtaposing freedom and spontaneity with shape and structure. Set to In a Landscape by John Cage, music which creates a vague atmosphere, never really becoming concrete, this full company piece creates a world with its own set of rules and special dynamics, a complex and closed universe of its own.

The choreographic residency with Demis Volpi was underwritten in part by the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany Chicago.
