Teresa Marsala

“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.”

- Lao Tzu

TERESA MARSALA, from Naperville, IL, began dancing at The Academy of Dance Arts under the direction of Artistic Director Sherry Moray and trained with Ricky Ruiz and Carrie Nicastro–Ruiz. After finishing her senior year at The Academy in 2014, she continued her training through Hubbard Street Dance Chicago’s Summer Intensive and also received a full scholarship to attend The Joffrey Ballet School’s (NYC) Jazz Summer Intensive. During fall 2014, she had wonderful opportunities to perform works by Dionna Pridgeon and hip-hop icon Ian Eastwood. In spring 2015, Teresa had the privilege of performing with Chicago Repertory Ballet, working with choreographers Tenley Dorrill, Kristina Isabelle, and Artistic Director Wade Schaaf. She has had the joy of being a part of the Lou Conte Dance Studio’s Scholarship Program, under the tutelage of Claire Bataille and the LCDS staff, to further her artistic growth. Teresa joined DanceWorks Chicago in October 2015.
