Ginny Ngo

"My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”

- Maya Angelou

GINNY NGO, from Alhambra, CA, began her dance training under the direction of Shin Yue Wang at Shin Dance Academy, with a concentration on classical Chinese folk dance and ballet. She continued her dance education at the University of California, Irvine, graduating with a B.F.A. in Performing Arts and a minor in Biological Sciences. As an undergraduate, Ginny was privileged with the opportunity to work with distinguished choreographers such as Jodie Gates, Loretta Livingston, Molly Lynch, Donald McKayle, and Tong Wang. For two incredible years, Ginny studied closely with Mr. McKayle as a member of his Etude Ensemble. Since graduating, Ginny continued to cultivate her artistry through dance intensives and outreach programs such as Hubbard Street Dance Chicago’s summer intensive and Movement Exchange in Panama, where Ginny shared her passion for dance with at-risk youths and children. She has also danced with Ali McKeon Dance Project, in Mountain View, CA. Ginny joined DanceWorks Chicago in October 2015.
