Something for everyBODY!
Dancer’s Choice: Create Your Own Adventure!
DanceWorks Chicago is dedicated to creating a safe space for artists and audiences. In alignment with the Dance360 approach of addressing body, mind, and spirit, everyBODY (artists including teachers, accompanists, seminar leaders; administrators, and audience members) is asked to be fully vaccinated to address physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Team DWC is looking forward to Dance360 Summer 2022 programming in our home at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts July 18-August 13. Dancers, create your own adventure with any combination of DanceForce and/or ChoreoLab weeks!
Described by dancers as “inspiring”, “impactful”, “refreshing”, and “transformative”, DanceWorks Chicago’s Dance360 programming incorporates a holistic approach to dance training and artistic development. “Dancers need a diverse set of tools to be successful in the studio, on stage, and in life. Dance360 will help young artists identify, develop, and utilize these tools on their journey through dance.” — DWC Artistic Director Julie Nakagawa.
From Dance360 Summer Dancers:
The positivity and kindness that was fostered in your program really clung to me. I just wanted to thank you for the amazing environment that you created in the program and for helping me grow as a person and a dancer.
Connecting with a diverse dancer population became more important to me as the program went on. I was thrilled to get to dance with dancers from all over the country and from such a strong supporting community. I will definitely keep in touch with the dancers I met through the program!
I felt comfortable diving into my areas of discomfort and feel like this allowed me to grow in a new way. I felt this across all of the classes and rep-sessions at Dance360.
The culture at DanceWorks Chicago’s Dance360 programs is far different from any of the other summer programs I have attended. DanceWorks’ culture of “horizontal leadership” creates a warm welcoming environment that facilitates collaboration, growth, and networking without intimidation. I really cannot share enough about how much I appreciated this and how refreshing it was.
I loved the opportunity to discuss deeper concepts; asking questions and reflecting is something I value greatly. I appreciate dance communities which encourage dancers to be THINKERS, to have ideas…I am still developing myself in this way; it has taken some time for me to start allowing myself to express and project my ideas audibly and physically. I feel like DWC is a place that cultivates dancer’s growth in this way.
