Originally from San Diego, California, Brendan is a nonprofit professional, dancer, and choreographer. Brendan began his nonprofit experience working in a variety of roles at the San Francisco LGBT Pride Celebration Committee over the course of nearly a decade starting in 2005. Brendan served as the organization’s deputy and later executive director between 2008 to 2010 and 2011 to 2013 before leaving for graduate school at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to pursue his MFA in dance, which he received in 2016. Brendan has worked and performed professionally with dance companies including punkkiCo (San Francisco), Loose Change (San Francisco), and Laurie Cameron & Co. (Los Angeles). Brendan debuted his own choreographic work with the piece, Heir, at the M. H. de Young Memorial Museum in San Francisco in 2008. Since then, he has choreographed and performed his work across the U.S. and Colombia and has had his dance film work screened at festivals in Seattle, New Orleans, and Minneapolis.
