Take class and join the New Dances commUNITY!

Thodos Dance Chicago (TDC) and DanceWorks Chicago (DWC) are excited to collaborate on New Dances 2024 and continue a shared tradition of developing choreographic talent and serving Chicago’s dance community. Originating with The Chicago Repertory Dance Ensemble, New Dances has been part of Chicago’s dance history for over 40 years, offering a platform for early career choreographers to create new work with artistic, logistic, and financial support.

In alignment with its commitment to Chicago’s dance community, New Dances will offer FREE Open Company Classes led by Thodos Dance Chicago Artistic Director Melissa Thodos, DanceWorks Chicago Artistic Director Julie Nakagawa, and each of the New Dances 2024 choreographersPre-registration is REQUIRED. 

LOCATION: Ruth Page Center for the Arts, Larry Long Studio

CLASS TIME: 9:30am-10:45am (building access at 9am)

CLASS FEE: free!!!

CommUNITY Classes are FREE, thanks to the generosity of New Dances donors: Heiji Black, Frank Fishella, Laura Gates, Jimi Loc Nguyen, and Shannon Raglin.
