NEW Dances Choreographer Application DUE DATE
DanceWorks Chicago is excited to partner with Thodos Dance Chicago on NEW Dances 2018! Read the full press release HERE. Interested Chicago-area choreographers are invited to submit an application.
Selected dancemakers will be given 25 hours of creative time + stage time at the newly-renovated Ruth Page Center for the Arts, access to the NEW Dances Company artists including DanceWorks Chicago dancers for casting for the purposes of creating a NEW Dance, and an honorarium of $550 to cover the creation of the work and teaching of one company class during the creative period, June 11 – June 28, 2018. NEW Dances 2018 will be presented in the Ruth Page Center Theater on Friday, June 29 and Sunday, July 1.
Melissa Thodos, Artistic Director Thodos Dance Chicago, and Julie Nakagawa, Artistic Director DanceWorks Chicago, will assess applications and invitations will be extended to a select group of choreographers. Each applicant will hear back regarding the status of their application by Sunday, April 15.
