Thank you for your interest in New Dances 2023, the 40th Anniversary of New Dances in Chicago!

Thodos Dance Chicago and DanceWorks Chicago are excited to collaborate on New Dances 2023 and continue a shared tradition of developing choreographic talent and serving Chicago’s dance community. Originating with The Chicago Repertory Dance Ensemble, New Dances has been part of Chicago’s dance history for 40 years, offering a platform for early career choreographers to create new work with artistic, logistic, and financial support.

See World Premieres by Chicago-based choreographers Anna Caffarelli, Rahila Coats, Tina Diaz, Imani English, Isabella Limosnero, and Eduardo Zambrana. Performances will be held at The Ruth Page Center Theater, the very theater where New Dances began in 1983, 1016 North Dearborn, June 22-24, 2023, during Chicago Dance Month. Curtain time is 7pm, and each performance includes a post-show Q & A with the choreographers.

The New Dances 2023 company works within a fast-paced, two-week period creating SIX completely new and diverse dances presented in an intimate setting. Nothing in the world can match the exhilarating feeling of in-real-life events. Buy your tickets today to experience it all live.
