Always Moving

DanceWorks Chicago, newly formed under the artistic leadership of Julie Nakagawa, former founding artistic director of Hubbard Street 2, will rock the behind-the-scenes status quo by welcoming the general public, FREE of CHARGE, to observe a professional dance audition – an intriguing part of the dance world that is usually off-limits to the public. Take advantage of this unique opportunity and join us as we search for 6 exceptional young dancers to be part of our first season. This innovative approach to an audition is sure to create a deeper understanding and spark a fresh curiosity about dance that will inspire audiences to build a lasting relationship with dance artists and their art.

DATE: Sunday, November 4
TIME: 2:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Doors open at 2 p.m. Audience members may come and go throughout the afternoon.)
WHERE: Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, 50 East Congress

WHAT YOU WILL SEE: The audition will be conducted by Artistic Director Julie Nakagawa. Ballet class with eliminations to be followed by repertoire taught by award-winning dancer and choreographer, Ron De Jesus. DanceWorks Chicago representatives will be available that afternoon to answer questions about what’s happening on stage.

Please join us on Sunday afternoon, November 4th as DanceWorks Chicago ignites its inaugural season, DanceWorks Chicago: The Launch.
